Camp Cameron is a camp for children, ages 3-10 years old, with mild to severe physical and/or intellectual disabilities.

The camp is designed to provide these children with a week of activities in a loving and spiritual environment. We realize how difficult it is having quality summer programs, as well as, provide parents with a program specifically designed for their children. The children are engaged in social activities, crafts, physical and occupational therapy sessions, Bible stories, music, and outdoor water activities. Camp Cameron was designed to meet each individual need of the campers, by having each camper an assigned “buddy” (young adult), with them during the day.

Our hope for the future, is to be able to extend Camp Cameron for the whole summer.

“So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.” 2 Corinthians 4:18

Camp Cameron was designed in memory of Cameron Shaw. Cameron is the cousin of Brittany Smith. Cameron had Cerebral Palsy but that did not define him. He lived a life full of love and humility. He taught everyone around him what it meant to truly live. He passed away unexpectedly at the age of 11 years old. Cameron was very involved in the Awanas program, Vacation Bible School, and King’s Kid’s at Varennes Heights Baptist Church. This camp is designed for children with mild to severe disabilities to have opportunities that they might not get to experience and to have a safe place to look forward to coming to! Cameron truly touched and changed the lives of those he was around and we hope to do the same with Camp Cameron!
