Varennes Heights Baptist Church

I cannot believe how hot it is. Summer doesn't officially begin for 10 more days and the temperatures are already out of sight. However, the great news is that tomorrow the Youth are going Tubing and the cool water will be a great source of relief from the heat.

VBS was awesome! I appreciate all of the time and effort that everyone put into it. God truly blessed the entire week. God is good!

This morning I was at Westside High School for a prayer service. The service was held in Memory of Ansleigh Moorehead, the student who passed away during a traffic accident. I had the opportunity to address the over 100 students that attended the prayer service and I challenged them from 2 Corinthians 1:3-7. I reminded them that God is a God of Comfort and that He promised to comfort us during our times of trouble. I will be back at Westside tommorow morning to encourage and comfort students that are hurting.

Finally! I turned in my thesis for my Master's Degree and I made a 96. I was so excited just to finish it, but I was even more excited to get the results. I have a burden lifted off my shoulders and a sense of completion that I cannot explain. Thanks for all of your prayers and support during this time!

For the past couple of days I have been concentrating my thoughts on my Intergration project for my Master's Degree. My paper has to be 30-50 pages and it is getting down to the wire. It is due on November 19, so I can worry all during Thanksgiving about how I did! I really look forward to graduating and December and not having to worry about homework for a while. I just wanted to let everyone know what was going on!

The Youth Mission Trip was awesome. God really moved in the lives of our students as well as those we were ministering too. I am thankful for your prayers and support, because without your support the trip would have not been possible. Please continue to pray for the student ministry as Satan tries to interfere with what the Lord is doing! Satan is only trying to attack us because we seek to do the Lord's work!

Last week was awesome! We had the opportunity to deliver Meals on Wheels everyday and to work with VBS at Southside Baptist Church. We had a great time and God really blessed our time. It was awesome to see the students get excited about doing ministry. It was also great to be able to give back to the church that had the vision for Varennes. God is good!

Yesterday we began our summer activities with a trip to Fire Lake. We had 15 students go and play paintball. It was very intense as me and Tyler Walters were going after each other.

Last night we also began our summer Bible studies. Brittany Smith is leading the girls in a study on purity and the guys studied the mind. Following our Bible studies we had some brownies, ice cream, chips, and drinks. We had a great day!

Unbelievable! For the past 5 days I have been in class studying the Life of Christ. WOW! Dr. Patton wore us out, but it has been an amazing time of learning.

WOW! What a week! God really moved in a mighty way at Spring Break. He worked in the lives of many students and adults throughout the week. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to serve you at Varennes. God bless you!

God is really on the move at Varennes Heights, so you better watch our for Satan as he will be trying to get into our midst. Satan is running around like a lion, seeking whom he may devour and we better be on our toes and watch our for Satan and his schemes. Be true to the Word of God and allow Him to direct you.
